About the Location
Folegandros is a small rocky island at the SE of Cyclades territory. Karavostasi is the name of the only port in island.
Mooring
Entering the port you will tie to the pier with ropes at the stern and use an anchor. In the West you can moor as long as there is no ferry mooring. The bottom is sandy and generally our anchor holds well. In case it has meltemi ie over 6 Beaufort, create a swale in the port which is annoying and sometimes dangerous if you are tied to the pier. In cases of East and South-East winds, avoid entering the port.
Water & Shore power
In the summer, usually every afternoon is the person in charge, who will give you instructions.
Fuel
If you want to refuel, you can call and a truck come to the pier. Our opinion is to avoid refuel up on Folegandros because of the expensive price.
Useful informations
There is a bus to take you to Chora from the port every hour.
There is only one taxi on the island his phone number is +30 6944693957 and the name of the driver is Yannis.
The beach located in Karavostasi has such clear water that we recommend it for swimming.
