Instructions To Visit Cyprus By Yacht!
Cyprus is an island country in the eastern mediteranean sea. If you are heading from Greece to Cyprus and you don’t want to visit the south coast of Turkey, the best way is to stop to Kastelorizo island for resupply and then straight ahead to the closest marina of Cyprus which is Latchi. The total distance between Kastelorizo and Latchi is approximately 150 nautical miles. Ussualy the weather is good with north west winds but always advice the weather forecast and have in your mind that mobile phone doesn’t work.
If you are going from Kastelorizo to Latchi you have to inform the port authorities of Cyprus that you are coming by phone or call them from VHF to channel 16 because Cyprus is in European Union but not in Shengen area so you have to pass throught passport control. Also before leave from Greece call the Latchi office marina if there is available place and to give you instructions in which place you can moor. The same proccedure if you are planning to do the opposite trip, the only difference is that it doesn’t need to call for mooring place.

Sail Trip is Starting
Sept 2022 Sailing trip is starting
We prepared our sailing boat "Dioni" and 6th of September our adventure started. Starting base is marina of Larnaca and our course is to Greece and meanwhile visiting marina's of Cyprus and gathering information.

We are expecting before end of December our boat to be in Rhodes island for the winter maintain. Also we are going to upload all the ports that we are visited with pictures and sea port maps.
